.....ALAPPUZHA (ACQUISITION AND TRANSFER OF UNDERTAKING) ACT, 2010 THE KERALA SPINNERS, ALAPPUZHA (ACQUISITION AND TRANSFER OF UNDERTAKING) ACT, 2010 An Act to provide for the acquisition and transfer of the Kerala Spinners Lt., Komalapuram, Alappuzha and for the acquisition and transfer of the right, title and interest of the owners in respect of the undertaking with a view to reorganizing and reviving the undertaking and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Preamble. "WHEREAS, it is expedient to provide for the acquisition and transfer of the Kerala Spinners Ltd., Komalapuram, Alappuzha and for the acquisition and transfer of the right, title and interest of the owners in respect of the undertaking with a view to reorganizing and reviving the undertaking and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto; BE it enacted in the Sixty first year of the Republic of India as follows:" CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. THE KERALA AGRICULTURISTS' DEBTRELIF ACT, 1970 [1] THE KERALA AGRICULTURISTS' DEBTRELIF ACT, 1970 [1] (ACT 11 Of 1970) An Act to give relief to indebted agriculturists in the State of Kerala Preamble.- WHEREASit is considered necessary to provide for the relief of indebted agiculturists in the State of Kerala; BE it enacted in the Twenty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:- I. Short title , extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called The Kerala Agriculturists' Debt Relief Act, 1970. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Definitions._ In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires _ (1) "agriculturist" means a person who has an interest, other than as a simple mortgagee, in any agricultural or horticultural land in the State of Kerala, and includes- (a) an agricultural labourer; (b) a kudikidappukaran; and (c) a tenant. Preamble.• WHEREAS, it is deemed expedient to amend the Kerala Money Lenders Act, 1958 (Act 35 of 1958), for the purposes hereinafter appearing; BE it enacted in the Fourteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:• 1. Short title and commencement.• (1) This Act may be called the Kerala Money Lenders (Amendment) Act, 1963. (2) It shall come into force at once. 2. Payment of debt in instalments.--(1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any law or contract or in any decree or order of any court or tribunal, an agriculturist may discharge his debts in the manner specified in sub-section (2) and in sub-section (3). (2) If any debt is repaid in thirty monthly instalments together with interest at the rate specified in section 5, on the principal amount outstanding at the time of each payment, the whole debt shall be deemed to be discharged. (3) The first instalment of any debt payable under sub-section (2) other than a debt payable to a co-operative society shall be paid before the expiry of a period of twelve months from the commencement of this Act and first instalment of any debt due to a co-operative society shall be paid before the expiry of six months from such commencement and each of the remaining instalments.....
