(2) The Government may, by notification in the gazette, appoint any Officer not below the rank of a Tahsildar to be the Accommodation Controller for any area to which this Act applies. (3) The Accommodation Controller shall exercise his powers and perform his functions.....

(1) This Act may be called the Tripura Buildings (Lease and Rent Control) Act,1975. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Tripura. THE KERALA CONSERVATION OF PADDY LAND AND WETLAND ACT, 2008 ACT 28 OF 2008 THE KERALA CONSERVATION OF PADDY LAND AND WETLAND ACT, 2008 An Act to conserve the paddy land and wetland and to restrict the conversion or reclamation thereof, in order to promote growth in the agricultural sector and to sustain the ecological system, in the State of Kerala. Preamble .- WHEREAS it has come to the notice of the Government that indiscriminate and uncontrolled reclamation and massive conversion of paddy land and wetland is taking place in the State; AND WHEREAS there is no existing law to restrict effectively, the conversion or reclamation of paddy land; AND WHEREAS the Government are satisfied that it is expedient, in public interest to provide for the conservation of paddy land and wetland and to restrict the conservation or reclamation thereof, in order to promote agricultural growth, to ensure food security and to sustain the ecological system in the State of Kerala; BE it enacted in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. EAST PUNJAB URBAN RENT RESTRICTION ACT, 1949 EAST PUNJAB URBAN RENT RESTRICTION ACT, 1949 An Act to restrict the increase of rent of certain premises situated within the limits of urban areas, and the eviction of tenants therefrom It is hereby enacted as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement. - (1) This Act may be called the East Punjab Urban Rent Restriction Act, 1949. (2) It extends to all urban areas in 1[Punjab] but nothing herein contained shall be deemed to affect the regulation of house accommodation in any Cantonment area. (3) It shall come into force at once. Footnotes: 1. Substituted for "East Punjab" by the Adaptation of Laws Order, 1950. 2.
