Amendment of section 52 In section 52 of the principal Act, in sub-section (2), for the words "within six months after he has ceased to be subject of this Act", the following shall be substituted, namely:-- "within a period of two years after he has ceased to be subject to this Act; and in computing such period, the time during which such person has avoided arrest by absconding or concealing himself or where a proceeding in respect of an offence has been stayed by an injunction or order, the period of the continuance of the injunction or order, the day on which it was issued or made and the day on which it was withdrawn, shall be excluded". 6. Amendment of section 56 In section 56 of the principal Act, after the words and figures "manner stated in section 57", the words, figures and letter "or section 57A" shall be inserted. 7. Insertion of new section 57A After section 57 of the principal Act, the following section shall be inserted, namely:-- 57A. Punishment for officers below the rank of commandant:-(1) The Director-General or an officer not below the rank of Deputy.....

THE METRO RAILWAYS (CONSTRUCTION OF WORKS) AMENDMENT ACT, 1987 [Act, No. 42 of 1987] [9th December, 1987] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978. BE it enacted by parliament in the Thirty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- 1.Short title.-- This Act may be called the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Amendment Act, 1987. 2.Amendment of section 10.-- In section 10 of the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Act, 1978, (33 of 1978) to sub-section (3), the following proviso shall be added, namely:-- "Provided that in computing the said period of one year, the period or periods during which any action or proceeding to be taken in pursuance of the notification issued under sub-section (1) of section 7 [including any such action or proceeding pending immediately before the commencement of the Metro Railways (Construction of Works) Amendment Act, 1987] is stayed by an order of a Court, whether granted before or after such commencement, shall be excluded.".

(1) in the long title, after the words "insurance of deposits", the words "and guaranteeing of credit facilities" shall be inserted; (2) in section 1, in sub-section (1), for the words "the Deposit Insurance Corporation", the words "the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation" shall be substituted; (3) in section 2,-- (i) in clause (e), for the words "the Deposit Insurance Corporation", the words "the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation" shall be substituted; (ii) after clause (ee), the following clause shall be inserted, namely: -- '(eea) "credit institution" means all or any of the following, namely: -- (i) a banking company; (ii) a corresponding new bank; (iii) a Regional Rural Bank; (iv) a co-operative bank; (v) a financial institution;'; (iii) after clause (hh), the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-- '(hha) "financial institution" means any financial institution within the meaning of clause (c) of section 451 of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 (2 of 1934); (4) in section 3, after sub-section (1), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely: -- "(1A) Any reference in this Act to the Deposit.....

SECTION 04: SAVINGS - The repeal by this Act of any enactment shall not affect any other enactment in which the repealed enactment has been applied, incorporated or referred to: and this Act shall not affect the validity, invalidity, effect or consequences of anything already done or suffered, or any right, title, obligation or liability already acquired, accrued or incurred or any remedy or proceeding in respect thereof, or any release or discharge of or from any debt, penalty, obli- gation, liability, claim or demand, or any indemnity already granted, or the proof of any past act or thing; nor shall this Act affect any principle or rule of law, or established jurisdiction, form or course of pleading, practice or procedure, or existing usage, custom privilege, restriction, exemption, office or appointment, notwithstanding that the same respectively may have been in any manner affirmed or recognised or derived by, in or from any enactment hereby repeated: nor shall the repeal by this Act of any enactment revive or restore any jurisdiction, office, custom, liability, right,.....
