In section 2 of the Income-tax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961), (hereinafter referred to as the Income-tax Act), in sub-clause (iv) of clause (14), after the figures "1977", the following shall be, and shall be deemed to have been, inserted with effect from the 1st day of April, 1965, namely :- "or 7 per cent. Gold Bonds, 1980".

Section 5 of the Patents Act, 1970 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act) shall be renumbered as sub-section (1) thereof and after sub-section (1) as so renumbered, the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely: "(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), a claim for patent of an invention for a substance itself intended for use, or capable of being used, as medicine or drug, except the medicine or drug specified under sub-clause (v) of clause (1) of sub-section (1) of section 2, may be made and shall be dealt, without prejudice to the other provisions of this Act, in the manner provided in Chapter IVA".

In section 2 of the Vice-President's pension Act, 1997 (30 of 1997) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), after sub-section (1), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-- (a) while holding the office of Vice-President either by the expiration of his term of office or by resignation of his office, (b) after ceasing to hold office as Vice-President either by the expiration of his term of office or by resignation of his office, shall be paid a family pension at the rate of fifty per cent, of pension as is admissible to a retiring Vice-President, for the remainder of her life.".
