STATEMENT OF OBJECT AND REASONS Due to the fact that the category of Senior Grade Government Servants has been merged with that of the First Grade after adjustment of pay ranges, the reference made to 'Senior Grade' in the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya (Members' Salaries and Allowances) Act, 1972 in regard to the travelling allowances of the Members of the Legislative Assembly has also called for a change.
