The Kerala Decentralisation of Powers Act, 2000[1] Complete Act

Amendment of section 3.-- In the Kerala State Commission for Backward Classes Act, 1993 (11 of 1993) (hereinafter referred to as principal Act), for sub-section (2) of section 3, the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely:-- "(2) The commission shall consist of a Chairman who is or has been a Judge of the Supreme Court or of a High Court appointed by the Government and the following members, that is to say,-- (a) the Secretary to Government in charge of the Backward Classes Welfare Department of the Government, ex-officio, who shall be the Member-Secretary of the Commission; (b) two persons having special knowledge in matters relating to Backward Classes to be nominated by the Government". 3. Repeal and saving.- (1) The Kerala State Commission for Backward Classes (Amendment) Ordinance, 2000 (2 of 2000) is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act, as amended by this Act.
