Section Text

1) The State Government or the Excise Commissioner as may be empowered by the State Government may declare generally or specially by notification in the Official Gazette, any post or place to be an Excise Station which may include any local area specified in that behalf by the State Government or the Excise Commissioner, as the case may be.

(2) There shall be an Officer in charge for every Excise Station who shall be an Excise Officer not below the rank of Sub- Inspector and when such Officer in charge is absent from the Excise Station or unable from illness of otherwise to perform his duties the Excise Officer present at the Excise Staion who is next in rank to such Officer in charge and is above the rank of Constable of Excise, shall be treated to be the Officer Section 83 - in Charge
