Section Text

(a) no tari-producing tree shall be tapped, and (b) no tari shall be drawn from any tree, in any local area notified in this behalf by the State Government, except under the authority and without a licence containing the terms and conditions granted in that behalf by the Collector: Provided that, when any exclusive privilege of manufacturing tari has been granted under Section 20, the State the Government may declare that the written permission given to the grantee to draw tari shall have the same force and effect as a licence granted by the Collector under this Section : Provided further that, in any local area specified by notification, the State Government may, by notification, declare that the same shall not apply to tari trees tapped or tari drawn under such special conditions as the State Government may prescribe. 8 THE ODISHA EXCISE ACT, 2008
