THE MINIMUM WAGES ACT, 1948 THE MINIMUM WAGES ACT, 1948 (Act No. XI of 1948) [15 March 1948] An Act to provide for fixing minimum rates of wages in certain employments WHEREAS it is expedient to provide forking minimum rates of wages in certain employments; It is hereby enacted as follows 1) This Act may be called The Minimum Wages Act, 1948. (2) It extends [to the whole of India] 2 [except the State of Jammu and Kashmir]
