Section Text

The Central Government may, by notification in theOfficial Gazette,---

(a)Define areas to be districts for the purposes of this Act;

¹ [(b)appoint a person to be the Director of Lighthouses and Lightships in eachdistrict;

(d) appoint a person to be theDirector-General of Lighthouses and Lightships.]

1.Substitutedfor "(b) appoint a person to be the Superintendent of Lighthouses in eachdistrict;

(c)appoint a person to be the Chief Inspector of Lighthouses in { Subs.by the A.O.1950 for "the Provinces".}[India]; and

(d)appoint persons to be Inspectors of Lighthouses."By the Lighthouse (Amendment) Act, 1985, w.e.f. 01-02-1986.
