section 46A" subs. for words, figures and letter "under section 46A" by W. B. Act 38 of 1983. [or the Excise Commissioner, as the State Government may, by notification, specify] :

Provided that any tari-producing tree may be tapped, and tari may be drawn from any tree without a license under this section, by the person in possession of the t ree (i) for the purpose of being used in the manufacture of gur or molasses, or 7272. (ia) for the purpose of being used solely for the preparation of food for domestic consumption, and not (I) as an intoxicant, or (II) for the preparation of any intoxicating article, or (III) for the preparation of any article for sale, or (ii) up to a limit of 7373. Sub-section (6a) ins. by W. B. Act 34 of 1965. [four litres,] for the domestic consumption of the said person.

a) no tari-producing tree shall be tapped, (b) no tari shall be drawn from any tree, and (c) no person shall have any tari in his possession, except under and in accordance with the terms and conditions of a notification issued in this behalf by the State Government or of a license granted in that hehalf by the Collector.
