Section Text

The District Magistrate or any Magistrate of the first class specially empowered in this behalf by the1[ State Government ] may try summarily, under the2Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, any forest-offence punishable with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, or fine not exceeding five hundred rupees, or both.
