Section Text

Section 162 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, shall apply to the statements made by any person under this section. (6) No oaths shall be administered to any such person. Section 20C Power of investigating officer to release accused when evidence deficient 1 Secs. 20 to 20J subs. for original sec. 20 by Ben. Act 5 of 1933. If upon an investigation under this Act it appears to the officer in charge of such investigation that there is not sufficient evidence or reasonable ground of suspicion to justify the forwarding of the accused to a Magistrate, such officer shall release him on his executing a bond, with or without sureties, as such officer may direct, to appear, if and when so required, before a Magistrate for trial.
