Section Text

The ballot paper shall be invalid if___________ (a) the mark X is placed opposite the names of more candidates than are required to be elected.

(b) it is not properly signed on its back by the elector.

(c) it does not bear the initials of the Returning Officer.

(d) no vote is recorded thereon, or (e) A voter writes his name or write saw or do makes a mark on the face of it.

(f) The number of vote srecorded there on exceed the number so vacancies to be filled in, or (g) it does not in any way conform to these rules:

Provided that when more than one vote can be given on the same ballot paper if one of the marks is so placed as to render it doubtful to which candidate it is intended to apply, the vote concerned and not the whole ballot paper shall be invalid on that account.
