In the Coasting Vessels Act, 1838, for the expression "Collector of Sea Customs", the expression "Commissioner of Customs" shall be substituted.
Section 83 - Amendment of Act 23 of 1940In the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, for the expression "Customs Collector", the expression "Commissioner of Customs" shall be substituted.
Section 84 - Amendment of Act 27 of 1940In the Agricultural Produce Cess Act, 1940, -
(i) in section 2, for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely :-
'(a) "Commissioner" means a Commissioner of Customs as defined in clause (8) of section 2 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962);';
(ii) for the expression "Collector", wherever it occurs, the expression "Commissioner" shall be substituted.
Section 85 - Amendment of Act 7 of 1942In the Coffee Act, 1942, -
(i) in section 3, for clause (c), the following clause shall be substituted, namely :-
'(c) "Commissioner" means the "Commissioner of Customs" as specified in clause (b) of section 3 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962);';
(ii) for the expression "Collector", wherever it occurs, the expression "Commissioner" shall be substituted.
Section 86 - Amendment of Act 29 of 1953In the Tea Act, 1953, -
(i) in section 3, for clause (d), the following clause shall be substituted, namely :-
'(d) "Commissioner of Customs" means a Commissioner of Customs as specified in clause (b) of section 3 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962);';
(ii) for the expression "Customs Collector", wherever it occurs, the expression "Commissioner of Customs" shall be substituted.
Section 87 - Amendment of Act 37 of 1954In the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954, for the expression "Customs Collector", wherever it occurs, the expression "Commissioner of Customs" shall be substituted.
Section 88 - Amendment of Act 43 of 1958In the Trade and Merchandise Marks Act, 1958, for the expression "Chief Customs Officer", the expression "Commissioner of Customs" shall be substituted.
Section 89 - Amendment of Act 54 of 1959In the Arms Act, 1959, for the expression "Collector of Customs", wherever it occurs, the expression "Commissioner of Customs" shall be substituted.
Section 90 - Amendment of Act 52 of 1963In the Unit Trust of India Act, 1963, in section 32, in sub-section (2), clauses (b) and (c) and the proviso shall be omitted with effect from the 1st day of July, 1995.
Section 91 - Amendment of Act 46 of 1973In the Foreign Exchange Regulation Act, 1973, for the expressions "Collector of Customs" and "Collector", wherever they occur, the expression "Commissioner of Customs" shall be substituted.
Section 92 - Repeal of Act 38 of 1974The Compulsory Deposit Scheme (Income-tax Payers) Act, 1974, shall, as from the 1st day of April, 1996, stand repealed.
