Section Text

(1) The Indian Tariff Act, 1934 (32 of 1934), and theIndian Tariff (Amendment) Act, 1949 (1 of 1949), are hereby repealed.

(2) Notwithstanding the repealof any of the Acts mentioned in sub-section (1), anything done or any actiontaken (including any notification published and any rules and orders made ordeemed to have been made under the provisions of those Acts and in forceimmediately before the commencement of this Act) shall, insofar as such thingor action is not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be deemed tohave been done or taken under the provisions of this Act and shall continue inforce accordingly until superseded by anything done or any action taken underthis Act.
