DIVORCE ACT, 1945 31 of 1945 31st October 1945 An Act to validate certain proceedings for dissolution of marriage in the High Court in Bombay. Be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this Present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the name, as follows :- SECTION 01: CERTAIN PROCEEDINGS IN HIGH COURT OF BOMBAY TO BE VALID - The High Court in Bombay shall in and in relation to any proceedings instituted therein before the passing of this Act, exercise and be deemed always to have been entitled to exercise all such jurisdiction as would have been exercisable by that Court, if the State of Hyderabad had at all times been within the area which is in relation to that. Court, the appropriate area for the purposes ofsection 6 of the Indian and Colonial Divorce Act, 1940 SECTION 02: SHORT TITLE - This Act may be cited as The Indian Divorce Act, 1945. |
