54.Term of office of members of first 1 [***] State Bar Council.-

Notwithstandinganything contained in this Act, the term of office of the 2 [***] elected members of 3 [***] the Bar Council of India and aState Bar Council constituted for the first time, shall be two yearsfrom the date of the first meeting of the Council:

4 [Providedthat such members shall continue to hold office until the State BarCouncil is reconstituted in accordance with the provisions of thisAct.]

4. Insertedby Act 21 of 1964, section 22(ii) and shall be deemed to have alwaysbeen inserted.
