Vert [fr. verd, Fr.; viridis, Lat.], otherwise called greenhue, everything that bears a green leaf within a forest that may cover a deer; but especially great and thick coverts. 'Vert, venison and inclosure' were three of the requisites of an ancient legal park; see Pease v.
