Usha International Limited is directed against the order dated 6.7.2000 passed by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-II, U.T., Chandigarh (for short hereinafter referred to as the District Forum-II) in Complaint Case No. 2054 of 1999. The said complaint was filed by the respondent Col. D.C. Sood. The facts giving arise to this appeal may briefly be narrated as under. 2. The respondent/complainant - Col. D.C. Sood purchased a USHA (LEXUS) Storage Water Heater Model No. WH 1025 machine No. WF 190 8 PC 1341, for the sum of Rs. 3,461/- on 16.10.1999 from Canteen Stores Department of HQ Western Command, Chandimandir, Distt. Panchkula. The bill for the said purchase was numbered MSIN 00003 dated 19.10.1999. K.K. Srivastava, President: 1. The complainant M/s. Shiv Dial Sud and Sons is the partnership firm dealing in the business of import and export of scientific goods and instruments at Ambala. This complaint has been filed against State Bank of Patiala, Branch Office Ambala Cantt., Haryana through its Branch Manager and State Bank of Patiala, Regional Office II (Haryana), SCO Nos. 103-107, Sector 8-C, Chandigarh through its Regional Manager for issuance of a direction to the opposite party Bank to give a credit of the amount of Rs. 5,97,106/- in the current account of the complainant with opposite party No. 1-State Bank of Patiala, Ambala Cantt. Dr. P.K. Vasudeva, Member: 1.This is an appeal filed under Section 15 of the Consumer Protection Act, 1986 (for short hereinafter referred to as the C.P. Act), against the order dated 15.3.1999 passed by the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum-I, U.T., Chandigarh (for short hereinafter referred to as the District Forum-I), in Complaint Case No. 673 of 1995. The District Forum-I allowed the complaint and directed the opposite party to make the payment of loss assessed by the Surveyor i.e. Rs. 34,046/- alongwith interest @ 12% per annum from 12.6.1994 till the date of payment to the complainant.
