I.S. Tiwana, J.1. As is commonly said, even God loves things beautiful; as did the appellant. He, however, turned a monster on April 27, 1985, when he tried to disfigure or destroy the very object of his love by pouring sulphuric acid on Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Marwaha, complainant, PW 18 causing extensive burns on her person. For this he has been held guilty under Section 307, I.P.C. by the Sessions Court, Chandigarh, and has been awarded imprisonment for life and a fine of Rs. 10,000/-. He appeals.2. A claim petition under the Motor Vehicles Act was filed by the parents and sisters of the deceased child Mange alias Manoj, claiming compensation to the tune of Rs. 2,00,000/- on account of his untimely death. V. Ramaswami, C.J.1. The petitioners said to have owned an extent of 1317 Kanals 14 Marias of land in three villages in Tahsil Muktsar, District Faridkol. This included a fruit garden measuring 328 Kanals 14 Marias. A portion of this fruit garden is protected by a boundary wall constructed by the petitioner and there are a number of fruit bearing trees. The Punjab Land Reforms Act, 1972, (Punjab Act No. 10 of 1973) received the assent of the President on March 24, 1973, and came into force on its publication in the Punjab Government Gazette (Extraordinary) on April 2, 1973. The long title of the Act states that it is an Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to ceiling on land holdings, acquisition of proprietary rights by tenants and other ancillary, matters in the Stale of Punjab.
