The appellants are under orders to pay of Rs. 2,00,000/- as compensation and Rs. 2,000/- as costs in OP 294/03 in the file of CDRF, Ernakulam. 2. The complainant is the widow of the deceased who died due to rat fever on 16-12-02. It is the case that on 10-12-02 the patient felt body pain and fever and on 13-12-02 he was admitted at the 1st opposite party hospital as inpatient. The deceased was treated by the opposite party doctors and certain lab tests and X-ray were taken. It is alleged that on15-12-02 the complainant wanted discharge of the patient for admitting him at Amrita Institute of Medical Science (AIMS) which was not allowed by the opposite parties.
