writ petition filed under article 226 of the constitution of india, seeking to issue a writ of certiorarified mandamus, to call for the records of the first respondent relating to the order passed in g.o.(d) no.496 public works (e2) department dated 23.11.2006 and the consequential order in g.o.(d) no.499, public works (e2) department dated 27.11.2006, quash the same and direct the respondents to permit the petitioner to retire from service. o r d e r1. learned counsel appearing for the petitioner informs this court that the writ petition has become an infructuous one and has also made an endorsement to that effect in the case bundle. recording the said fact, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous. however, there shall be no order as to costs.
