(ORAL) 1. Vide the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.653/2018 dated 22.11.2018 registered at Police Station Mukherjee Nagar and consequent proceedings arising therefrom.

2. 3. Notice issued. Notice is accepted by learned APP for the State and counsel for respondent no.3 and with the consent of the counsel for the parties, the present petition is taken up for final disposal. CRL.M.C. 6296/2019 Page 1 of 3 4. The petitioner no.1 and respondent no.3 got married on 01.12.2017 as per Hindu rites and rituals. Due to extreme incompatibilities between the petitioners and respondent no.3, they started living separately from 20.12.2017 5. The petitioner no.1 and respondent no.3 with the intervention of their well wishers and relatives have entered into an amicable settlement vide memorandum of understanding dated 03.01.2019 and settled all their disputes amicably.

6. The total settlement amount is ₹7,50,000/-(Rupees (Seven Lakhs Fifty Thousand only). It is submitted that the respondent No.3 has already received an amount of ₹5 lakhs (Rupees Five Lakhs only). A demand draft bearing No.000337 dated 22.10.2019 for the balance amount of ₹2,50,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Fifity Thousand ) is handed over to the respondent no.3 today in the Court.

The complainant is present in person with her counsel and has been identified by SI Narender Pal of Police Station Mukherjee Nagar and submits that matter has been settled and she does not wish to prosecute the matter any further. CRL.M.C. 6296/2019 Page 2 of 3 8. Taking into account the aforesaid facts, this Court is inclined to quash the FIR as no useful purpose would be served in prosecuting the petitioners any further.

9. For the reasons afore-recorded, FIR No.653/2018 dated 22.11.2018 registered at Police Station Mukherjee Nagar and consequent proceedings emanating therefrom are quashed.

10. The petition is allowed accordingly.
