Judgment:

(Prayer: Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C., praying to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.04.2016 and provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members.)

1. This petition has been filed to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 11.04.2016 and provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner and his family members.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondents.

3. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a practicing Advocate in Trichy and a social activist, fighting for the noble cause of common public. He would further submit that the petitioner has filed several RTI application, seeking information from various departments in order to bring out the shortfalls, on account of which, the petitioner is facing threats from unknown persons frequently. The petitioner has submitted a representation dated 11.04.2016 to the 2nd respondent for providing adequate police protection to his life and limb and also his family members. Since there was no response on his representation, he has approached this Court with the above relief.

4. Under such circumstances, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation dated 11.04.2016 of the petitioner and pass appropriate orders thereon on merits and in accordance with law within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With this direction , this petition is disposed of accordingly.
