Judgment:


(Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for the issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 25.07.2016 to receive the road tax amount and release the tractor bearing registration No.TN 74 P 2691.)

1. This Writ Petition is filed, seeking for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 25.07.2016, to receive the road tax amount and release the tractor bearing registration No.TN-74 P-2691.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that since the petitioner failed to pay dues to a private finance company, the vehicle in question was seized by the respondents and therefore, he could not pay the road tax. However, he is ready to pay the road tax as on date and after making such payment, the vehicle in question may be released by the respondent.

3. Mr.T.R.Janarthanam, learned Additional Government Pleader, after taking notice for the respondent, submitted that if the entire road tax for the vehicle in question including the arrears is paid, the respondent will consider the case of the petitioner.

4..In view of the limited prayer sought for in this Writ Petition, without going into the merits of the case, the respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 25.07.2016, on merits and in accordance with law, and pass appropriate orders, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of.
