(Oral) Instant writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondent Nos.1 to 3 for taking action under Section 20(b) &(d) of the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 against respondent Nos.4 to 6 for refusing to perform their duties as Panch.

I have heard learned counsel for the petitioner and perused the record.

Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is a Sarpanch and respondent Nos.4 to 6 are the Panches.

Respondent Nos.4 to 6 are not participating in the meeting in spite of notices issued by the VIRENDER KUMAR201408.02 12:04 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CWP No.15015 of 2014 2 petitioner for holding meeting.

Learned counsel further submits that action is required to be taken against the defaulting private respondent Nos.4 to 6.

In view of above, respondent no.1 is directed to enquire into the fact as to whether in spite of notices, the private respondents are not attending the meeting.

Thereafter, the Block Development and Panchayat Officer shall take appropriate action in accordance with law.

Respondent no.1 shall also keep track of the action taken by the subordinate staff including Block Development and Panchayat Officer and District Development and Panchayat Officer.

Disposed of accordingly.
