The petitioners were known to each other for the last more than 2-3 yeaRs.They had a liking for each other.

They informed their parents that they wanted to solemnize their marriage amongst themselves.

The parents (respondents No.4 and 5) of petitioner No.1 warned her not to pursue the matter further as it would lead to alarming consequences.

Petitioners belong to the same caste.

Therefore, they of their own solemnized their marriage amongst themselves according to Hindu rites at Sr.Radha Krishna Mandir, Maloya U.T., Chandigarh on 03.06.2014.

The marriage certificate (Annexure P-3) and photographs (Annexure P-4) of the marriage have been placed on record.

The petitioneRs.it is stated, are major.

The date of birth of petitioner No.1 – Paramjit as per Adhar Card (Annexure P-1) is 01.01.1992 and the age of petitioner No.2 – Surjit as per Amit Kaundal 2014.06.06 11:44 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document Chandigarh CRM No.M-19983 of 2014 -2- his identity card (Annexure P-2) issued by the Election Commission of India is 24 years as on 07.01.2014.

Due to the threat held out to the petitioneRs.they filed a representation dated 03.06.2014 (Annexure P-5) to the Superintendent of Police, Fatehabad(respondent No.2).However, despite the said representation, the threat perception to them persists.

Therefore, they have filed the present petition.

Both the petitioners are present in Court and are identified by their counsel.

It is stated by the petitioners that they have solemnized their marriage with each other of their own free will and desire and without any kind of pressure or undue influence.

It is also stated by the petitioners that they were not earlier married.

Besides, they are happy with their marriage.

Keeping in view the facts and circumstances of the case, the criminal miscellaneous petition is disposed of with a direction to respondents No.2 and 3 that in case the petitioners approach any of them setting out their grievances as have been made in the present petition, the same would be looked into and considered by them independently and in accordance with law.
