(ORAL).The petitioners have approached this Court for the grant of pay scales/emoluments of the higher post against which they have been called upon to perform the duties and responsibilities.

The details as regards the officiating period against the higher post in respect of each of the petitioners has been furnished in a tabulation contained in Annexure P-1.

Counsel would contend that the claim of the petitioners would be covered in terms of judgment passed by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in Selvaraj V.

Lt.

Governot of Island, Port Blair & others reported as 1998 (4) Rs.22.

Reliance has further been placed upon memo dated 23.04.2012 at Annexure P-8 issued by the office of Director, Public Instructions (Secondary Education) Punjab, wherein a decision has been taken that the minimum of the pay scales meant for the higher post would be granted to the petitioners therein who had worked on a higher post.
