1. IN THE HIGH COURT OF PUNJAB AND HARYANA AT CHANDIGARH.

AUGUSTINE GEORGE MASIH, J.
(ORAL) Petitioner has approached this Court with a grievance that despite having acknowledged the fact that the petitioner has not been granted the benefit of Assured Career Progression Grades on completion of 9 and 14 years of service, relief has not been granted to the petitioner till date.
Reference has been made to the orders dated 23.08.2010 (Annexures P-2 and P-3 respectively) passed by the Collector, Amritsar, wherein the said benefit has been acknowledged to be released to the petitioner as per his entitlement.
CWP No.1734 o”
2. Petitioner, faced with this situation, has served a legal notice dated 30.01.2012 (Annexure P-4) when no relief was granted to the petitioner.
The said legal notice has also not been responded to.
Counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner, at this stage, would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the Collector, Amritsar-respondent No.3 to consider and decide the legal notice dated 30.01.2012 (Annexure P-4) within some specified time.
Without going into the merits of the case or commenting thereon, the present petition is disposed of directions to the Collector, Amritsar-respondent No.3 to consider and decide the legal notice dated 30.01.2012 (Annexure P-4) within a period of two months of receipt of certified copy of this order.
In case the claim of the petitioner is accepted, consequential benefits, if any, be released to him, in accordance with law, within a further period of one month.
In case the claim of the petitioner is not to be accepted, a well- reasoned and speaking order be passed and conveyed to the petitioner forthwith.
