The petitioners pray for protection of their life and liberty on account of the fact that they have performed marriage without parental consent.
FIR was registered against the petitioners at the behest of the complainant who is father of petitioner no.2 alleging her abduction by petitioner no.1.
Efforts were made to resolve the issue between the family members with the help of mediators but the complainant and other relations of both the petitioners did not turn up.
Mr.Hundal, learned State counsel on instructions from ASI Harjit Singh states that matter was investigated and cancellation report has been submitted before the Court of competent jurisdiction on 5.4.2013.
This would substantially redress the grievance of the petitioners who were facing the brunt of the allegations in the aforesaid FIR.
In case the cancellation report is contested, the petitioners would be at liberty to file a petition for quashing of the FIR in view of the peculiar circumstances which shall be duly taken note of in the eventuality of such a petition being filed.

not M-14333 of 2012(O&M) 2 Since the petitioners plead that they have got married and are living together and yet facing threat on account of their marriage being an inter caste marriage, the instant petition is disposed of with a direction to the SSP, Kapurthala to look into the grievance of the petitioneRs.in case of one being made regarding threat perception to them and in such an eventuality the SSP concerned shall evaluate the entire situation and take necessary action, if the circumstances so warrant.
Disposed of.
