.....APPLICATION AND AMENDMENT) ACT, 1961 [12th February, 1962] An Act to provide for uniformity in the application of the Cotton Ginning and Pressing Factories Act, 1925 to the whole of the State of Maharashtra, and to further amend that Act as so uniformly applied WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for uniformity in the application of the Cotton Ginning and Pressing Factories Act, 1925 to the whole of the State of Maharashtra, and for that purpose to extend throughout the State certain enact ments which amend the said Act in its application only to a part of the State ; AND WHEREAS it is also expedient further to amend, for the purposes hereinafter appearing, the said Act as so uniformly applied to the whole State ; It is hereby enacted in the Twelfth Year of the Republic of India as follows :" *For Statement of Objects and Reasons, see Maharashtra Govern ment Gazette, 1961, Part V, page 410, SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Cotton Ginning and Pressing Factories (Maharashtra Provision for Uniform Application and Amend ment) Act, 1961. .....for uniform ity in the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, in its application throughout the State, on the commencement of this Act, the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898 (hereinafter referred to as "the Code") as in force immediately before such commencement in the pre-Reorganisation State of Bombay (excluding the transferred territories), shall be so in force throughout the State of Bombay; and accordingly (a) (i) all amendments made by any law in the provisions of the Code (whether by way of modifications thereto, substitutions thereof, deletions there from, insertions therein, additions thereto, or otherwise) in the application exclusively of the Code to any of the areas at present forming the Saurashtra area, Kutch area, Hyderabad area or Vidarbha region, of the State of Bombay, and in particular the amendments made in the Code by the Acts specified in the First Schedule to this Act, shall cease to have; effect and shall stand repealed; and (ii) all amendments made to the Code in its application to the pre-Reorganisation State of Bombay (excluding the transferred territories), and in force at the commencement of this Act, shall be deemed to be extended.....

.....Republic of India as follows SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE This Act may be called the Transfer of Property (Bombay Provision for Uniformity and Amendment) Act, 1959. SECTION 02: APPLICATION OF ACT IV OF 1882 TO TRANSFER OF AGRICULTURAL LAND IN REST OF THE STATE Subject to the provisions of any special or local law relating to agricultural land for the time being in force in any area, the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 shall, on the commencement of this Act, apply also to transfer of agricultural land in the Saurashtra and Hyderabad areas of the State of Bombay. SECTION 03: EXTENSION OF CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF BOM XIV OF 1939 TO REST OF THE STATE The provisions of the Transfer of Property and the Indian Registration (Bombay Amendment) Act, 1939 which amend the Transfer of Property Act, 1882, in its application to the pre-reorganisation State of Bombay, are hereby extended to, and shall be in force in, that part of the State of Bombay to which they did not extend immediately before the commencement of this Act; and the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 shall, from the commencement of this Act, be deemed to be amended accordingly also in that part of the State. Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961 Section 10

(1) The State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, make rules requiring an employer of a motor transport undertaking to provide for the drivers, conductors and line-checking staff employed in that undertaking such number and type of uniforms, raincoats or other like amenities for their protection from rain or cold as may be specified in the rules. (2) There shall be paid to the drivers, conductors and line-checking staff by the employer an allowance for washing of uniforms provided under sub-section (1) at such rates as may be prescribed: Provided that no such allowance shall be payable by an employer who has made at his own cost adequate arrangements for the washing of uniforms.

Official Secrets Act, 1923 Section 6

Title: Unauthorised Use of Uniforms, Falsification of Reports, Forgery, Personation and False Documents

.....fails to restore it to the person or authority by whom or for whose use it was issued, or to a police officer; or (c) without lawful authority or excuse, manufactures or sells, or has in his possession for sale, any such die, seal or stamp as aforesaid, he shall be guilty of an offence under this section. (3) A person guilty of an offence under this section shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to1[three years], or with fine, or with both. (4) The provisions of sub-section (2) of section 3 shall apply, for the purpose of proving a purpose prejudicial to the safety of the State, to any prosecution for an offence under this section relating to the naval, military or air force affairs of Government, or to any secret official code in like manner as they apply, for the purpose of proving a purpose prejudicial to the safety or interests of the State, to prosecutions for offences punishable under that section2[***]. _____________________ 1. Private Security Agencies (Regulation) Act, 2005 Section 21

Title: Penalty for Unauthorized Use of Certain Uniforms

If any private security guard or supervisor wears the uniform of the Army, Air force, Navy or any other armed forces of the Union or Police or any dress having the appearance or bearing any of the distinctive marks of that uniform, he and the proprietor of the private security agency shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year or with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees, or with both.
