Multi-state Co-operative Societies Act, 2002 Section 9

Title: Multi-state Co-operative Society to Be Body Corporate

(1) The registration of a multi-State co-operative society shall render it a body corporate by the name under which it is registered having perpetual succession and a common seal, and with power to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both movable and immovable, enter into contract, institute and defend suits and other legal proceedings and to do all things necessary for the purpose for which it is constituted, and shall, by the said name, sue or be sued. (2) All transactions entered into in good faith prior to the registration of a multi-State co-operative society shall be deemed to be its transactions after registration for furtherance of the objects of its registration.

Title: Powers and Functions of Chief Executive

.....returns in accordance with the provisions of this Act, the rules and the bye-laws; (e) convening meetings of the general body of the multi-State co-operative society, the board and the Executive Committee and other committees or subcommittees constituted under sub-section (1) of section 53 and maintaining proper records for such meetings; (f) making appointments to the posts in the multi-State co-operative society in accordance with the bye-laws; (g) assisting the board in the formulation of policies, objectives and planning; (h) furnishing to the board periodical information necessary for appraising the operations and functions of the multi-State co-operative society; (i) appoint the person to sue or be sued on behalf of the multi-State co-operative society; (j) present the draft annual report and financial statements for the approval of the board within thirty days of closure of the financial year; (k) performing such other duties, and exercising such other powers, as may be specified in the bye-laws of the multi-State co-operative society.

Biological Diversity Act, 2002 Complete Act

MULTI-STATE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT, 2002 MULTI-STATE CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES ACT, 2002 39 of 2002 3rd July, 2002 An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to co-operative societies, with objects not confined to one State and serving the interests of members in more than one State, to facilitate the voluntary formation and democratic functioning of co-operatives as people's institutions based on self-help and mutual aid and to enable them to promote their economic and social betterment and to provide functional autonomy and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Multi-State Co-operative Societies Act, 2002. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that.....

Biological Diversity Act, 2002 Section 22

Title: Establishment of State Biodiversity Board

.....that in relation to any Union territory, the National Biodiversity Authority may delegate all or any of its powers or functions under this sub-section to such person or group of persons as the Central Government may specify. 1 7. Establishment of Commission.-- (1) With effect from such date as the Central Government may, by notification, appoint, there shall be established, for the purposes of this Act, a Commission to be called the "Competition Commission of India". (2) The Commission shall be a body corporate by the name aforesaid having perpetual succession and a common seal with power, subject to the provisions of this Act, to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both movable and immovable, and to contract and shall, by the said name, sue or be sued. Haj Committee Act, 2002 Section 3

Title: Constitution and Incorporation of the Haj Committee of India

(1) With effect from such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf, there shall be constituted a Committee by the name of the Haj Committee of India, (2) The Committee shall be a body corporate, by the name aforesaid, having perpetual succession and a common seal with power, subject to the provisions of this Act, to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both movable and immovable, to create a charitable trust or endowment, and to contract and shall by the said name sue and be sued, (3) The Committee shall have its headquarters at Mumbai and as and when the Committee considers it functionally necessary, additional regional offices may be opened in consultation with the Central Government.

Biological Diversity Act, 2002 Chapter 6

Title: State Biodiversity Board

.....of conservation, etc. (1) Any citizen of India or a body corporate, organisation or association registered in India intending to undertake any activity referred to in section 7 shall give prior intimation in such form as may be prescribed by the State Government to the State Biodiversity Board. (2) On receipt of an intimation under sub-section (1), the State Biodiversity Board may, in consultation with the local bodies concerned and after making such enquires as it may deem fit, by order, prohibit or restrict any such activity if it is of opinion that such activity is detrimental or contrary to the objectives of conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity or equitable sharing of benefits arising out of such activity: Provided that no such order shall be made without giving an opportunity of being heard to the person affected. (3) Any information given in the form referred to in sub-section (1) for prior intimation shall be kept confidential and shall not be disclosed, either intentionally or unintentionally, to any person not concerned thereto. Haj Committee Act, 2002 Section 17

Title: Establishment and Incorporation of State Haj Committee

..... to be in force for such period and to be subject to renewal for such further period, if any, as may be specified in the agreement to provide for the constitution of a Joint State Committee,-- (i) in a case referred to in Clause (a), for all the participating States, and (ii) in a case referred to in Clause (b), for the participating Union territory or Union territories and the State or States. (4) An agreement under this section shall be published, in a case referred to in Clause (a) of Sub-section (2), in the Official Gazette of the participating States and in a case referred to in Clause (b) of that sub-section, in the Official Gazette of the participating Union territory or Union territories and participating State or States. (5) Any reference in this Act to the State Committee shall, unless the context otherwise requires, be construed as including a Joint State Committee.
