Title: Subsidies for the Encouragement of Trade or Industry

.....subsidy under the Act unless and until (a) the company is incorporated by or under the laws of British Indiaor, if the Act so provides, is incorporated by or under the laws of BritishIndia or of a Federal State; and (b) such proportion, not exceeding one half, of the members of itsgoverning body as the Act may prescribe, are British subjects domiciled inIndia or, if the Act so provides, are either British subjects domiciled inIndia or subjects of a Federated State; and (c) the company gives such reasonable facilities as may be so prescribed for the training of British subjects domiciled in India or, if the Act so provides, of British subjects domiciled in India or .subjects of a Federated State. (3) For the purposes of this section a company incorporated by or under the laws of the United Kingdom shall be deemed to be carrying on business in India if it owns ships which habitually trade to and from parts in India. _________________________ 1. Title: Provision of Subsidy by State Government

If the State Government requires the grant of any subsidy to any consumer or class of consumers in the tariff determined by the State Commission under section 62, the State Government shall, notwithstanding any direction which may be given under section 108, pay, in advance and in such manner as may be specified, the amount to compensate the person affected by the grant of subsidy in the manner the State Commission may direct, as a condition for the licence or any other person concerned to implement the subsidy provided for by the State Government: PROVIDED that no such direction of the State Government shall be operative if the payment is not made in accordance with the provisions contained in this section and the tariff fixed by the State Commission shall be applicable from the date of issue of orders by the Commission in this regard.

Subsidies for the Encouragement of Trade or Industry (1) No ship registered in the United Kingdom shall be subjected by or under any Federal or Provincial law to any treatment affecting either the ship herself, or her master, officers, crew, passengers cargo, which is discriminatory in favour of ships registered in British India, except in so far as ships registered in the United Kingdom. (2) This section shall apply in relation to aircraft as it applies inrelation to ships. ELECTRICITY ACT, 2003 ELECTRICITY ACT, 2003 An Act to consolidate the laws relating to generation, transmission, distribution, trading and use of electricity and generally for taking measures conducive to development of electricity industry, promoting competition therein, protecting interest of consumers and supply of electricity to all areas, rationalisation of electricity tariff, ensuring transparent policies regarding subsidies, promotion of efficient and environmentally benign policies, constitution of Central Electricity Authority, Regulatory Commissions and establishment of Appellate Tribunal and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
