.....declare to be an establishment for the purposes of this Act; (9) "factory" means any premises which is a factory within the meaning of the Factories Act, 1948 or which is deemed to be a factory under section 85 of the said Act; (10) "goods" includes all materials, commodities and articles; (11) "holiday" means a day on which an establishment shall remain closed or on which an employee shall be given holiday under the provisions of this Act; (12) "Inspector" means an Inspector appointed under this Act; (13) "leave" meansleave as provided for in Chapter VIII of this Act; (14) "local area" means any area or combination of areas to which this Act applies; (I5) "local authority" means the Gangtok Municipal Corporation constituted under the Gangtok Municipal Corporation Act, 1975, and includes any other body which the State Government may, by notification, declare to be local authority for the purposes of this Act; (16) "manager" means a person declared to be a manager under section 6; (17) "member of the family of an employer" means the husband, wife, son, daughter, father, mother, brother, sister of an employer who lives with and is dependent' on such.....

.....The officer-in-charge of every police station shall maintain database in electronic form or otherwise, of all tenants and domestic or professional help living within the jurisdiction of the police station. Penalty 7. (1) Any house owner violating the provisions of section 3 of this Act shall, on conviction by a Magistrate of the first class having jurisdiction, be punishable with fine which may extend up to rupees five thousand in each case. (2) Any employer and/or manager of a household or establishment or land, vehicle, vessel or aircraft violating the provisions of section 4 of this Act shall, on conviction by a Magistrate of the first class having jurisdiction, be punishable with fine which may extend up to rupees five thousand in each case. (3) No magistrate shall take cognizance of an offence under this section except upon a complaint in writing made by the officer-in-charge of a police Power to make Rules 8. SIKKIM ANTI DRUGS ACT, 2006 SIKKIM ANTI DRUGS ACT, 2006 (Act No. 2 of 2006) AN ACT to control, regulate and prevent the abuse of drugs and controlled substances with abuse potential being misused by addicts and traffickers, to make stringent provisions to deal with the ever increasing phenomenon of abuse of medicinal preparations and for matters connected therewith. Beit enacted by the State Legislature in the Fifty-seventh Year of Republic of India as follows:- CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY Short Title, extent and commencement 1. (1) This Act may be called the Sikkim Anti Drugs Act, 2006. (2) It extends to the whole of Sikkim. (3) It shall come into force on the date of publication in the Official Gazette. Definitions 2. THE SIKKIM PRISONS ACT, 2007 THE SIKKIM PRISONS ACT, 2007 (Act No. 16 of 2007) AN ACT To provide for a law regulating the prisons in Sikkim. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Sikkim in the Fifty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows: - CHAPTER I Short title, extent and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Sikkim Prisons Act, 2007 (2) It extends to the whole of Sikkim; (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, in the official gazette appoint. Definitions. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires: - (a) "civil prisoner" means any prisoner who is not a criminal prisoner; 2 . (b) "Competent authority" means any officer having jurisdiction and legal authority to deal with a particular matter in question; (c) "convicted criminal prisoner" means any criminal prisoner under sentence of court or court-martial, and includes a person detained in prison under the provision of Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973; (d) "Court" includes any officer lawfully exercising civil, criminal or revenue jurisdiction; (e) "criminal prisoner" means any prisoner duly committed to custody.....
