(1) This Act may be called The Textile Undertakings (Taking over of Management) Act, 1983. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 18th day of October, 1983. Section 2 - Definitions In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, (a) "appointed day" means the date on which this Act comes into force; (b) "Custodian" means the person appointed under section 4 to take over the management of the undertakings; (c) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette; (d) "textile undertakings" or "the textile undertaking" means an undertaking specified in the second column of the First Schedule; (e) "textile company" means a company (being a company as defined in the Companies Act, 1956) specified in the third column of the First Schedule,.....
