No. 9 dt. 3-2-1961) THE KERALA AGRARIAN RELATIONS ACT, 1960 [Act No. 4 of 1961] PREAMBLE An act to enact a comprehensive legislation relating to agrarian reforms in the State of Kerala. Whereas it is expedient to enact a comprehensive legislation relating to agrarian reforms in the State of Kerala; Be it enacted in the Eleventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Section 1 - Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Kerala Agrarian Relations Act, 1960. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Gazette, appoint and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act. (Ss. 1 to 40, 57, 58, 60, 74 to 79, 81 to 95 came into force w.e.f 15-2-1961 as per Noti. pub. in K.G. Ex. dt. 15-2-1961.)
