Title: Forms of Business in Which Banking Companies May Engage

....."Eluru Taluk" means the taluk of that name in the West Godavari district of the State of Madras; (c) "law" means any Act, Ordinance, Regulation, Rule, Order or bye-law, relating to any of the matters enumerated in List I in the Seventh Schedule to the Government of India Act, 1935; and (d) "scheduled area" means the area comprised in the villages which are specified in the Schedule to this Act. SECTION 03: ASSIMILATION OF LAWS (1) All laws which immediately before the ap- pointed day extend to, or are in force in, the Eluru Taluk, but not in the scheduled area, shall, as from that day, extend to, or as the case may be, come into force in, the scheduled area. (2) All laws which immediately before the appointed day are in force in the scheduled area, but not in the Eluru Taluk, shall on that day cease to be in force in the scheduled area, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before that day. To remedy this, it has become necessary to provide that Police Officers of Centrally administered areas the transferred from one area to another according to the administrative exigencies by creating a common pool of officers and men which the Chief Commissioner's Provinces may draw upon, thus reducing their dependence upon the Provincial Governments. This common pool of officers may also prove a useful source of supply to the Central Intelligence Bureau in the recruitment of its staff in the lower ranks. As the formation of a common cadre of officers for the Police forces in Chief Commissioners' Provinces involves the constitution of a single police force in all those Provinces under a single Inspector General, this object can be achieved only by enacting new legislation which may take the form either of an amendment to the Indian Police Act of 1861or of an Independent Act.
