.....: For the purposes of this sub-section, "public sector company" shall have the same meaning as in clause (b) of the Explanation below sub-section (2B) of section 32A.'; (c) after sub-section (2A), the following sub-section shall be inserted with effect from the 1st day of September, 1980, namely :- "(2B)(a) Where an assessee has incurred any expenditure (not being in the nature of capital expenditure incurred on the acquisition of any land or building or construction of any building) on scientific research undertaken under a programme approved in this behalf by the prescribed authority having regard to the social, economic and industrial needs of India, he shall, subject to the provisions of this sub-section, be allowed a deduction of a sum equal to one and one-fourth times the amount of the expenditure certified by the prescribed authority to have been so incurred during the previous year. (b) Where a deduction has been allowed under clause (a) for any previous year in respect of any expenditure, no deduction in respect of such expenditure shall be allowed under clause (i) of sub-section (1) or clause (ia) of sub-section (2) for the same or any other previous.....

(1) The Authority shall have and maintain a separate fund to which shall be credited,- (a) all moneys received by the Authority from the State Government by way of grants, loans, advances or otherwise; (b) grant-in-aid and loans made available by the Central Government for developmental activities in the Command Area under the Central Sector Schemes; (c) any other funds provided for taking up any of the various development activities for specified programmes; (d) loans raised by the Authority from financing agencies; and (e) all other funds received by the Authority from any other source. (2) The fund shall be applied for the purpose of the Act in such manner as may be prescribed.

(5) If, immediately before the commencement of this Act, any suit, appeal or other proceeding of whatever nature in relation to any business of the undertaking which has been transferred under section 4-, is pending by or against the existing bank, the same shall not abate, be discontinued or be in any way, prejudicially affected by reason of the transfer of the undertaking of the existing bank or of anything contained in this Act but.....

Preamble.--WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the constitution of a welfare fund for the payment of retirement benefits to advocates in the State of Kerala and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto; BE it enacted in the Thirty-first year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement . --(1) This Act may be called the Kerala Advocates Welfare Fund Act, 1980. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala.
