Title: Evidence of Origin of Goods Imported by Sea

In the case of goods brought into India by sea, evidence of the port of shipment shall, in a prosecution for an offence under this Act or under clause (d), clause (dd), clause (e), clause (f), clause (h), clause (i) or clause (j) of section 18 of the Sea Customs Act, 1878 (8 of 1878), be prima facie evidence of the place or country in which the goods were made or produced.

Title: Disinfection of Buildings, Etc.

If the Secretary is of opinion that the cleansing or disinfecting of a building or premises or of a part thereof or of any articles therein likely to retain infection , would tend to prevent or check the spread of any infectious disease he may by notice require the owner or occupier to cleanse or disinfect the same within a time to be specified in such notice: Provided that if the Secretary considers that immediate action is necessary or that the owner or occupier is by reason of poverty or otherwise, unable effectively to comply with his requisition, he may himself cause such building or premises or articles to be cleansed or disinfected and for this purpose may cause such articles to be removed from such building or premises and the expenses incurred under this section shall be recoverable in the manner provided in chapter XIII from the said owner or occupier unless he was by reason of poverty unable effectively to comply with the requisition.

Any person contravening the provisions of section 89 shall, after summary enquiry before the Deputy Commissioner, be liable to pay as fine such amount as the Deputy Commissioner may specify, not exceeding three times the amount received for which a receipt was not duly granted.

If any municipal council supplies water through pipes, it shall take such steps, at such intervals, and on payment of such fees, as may be determined by a general or special order made by the Government, to ascertain the condition of the water so supplied, by inspection and analysis at a laboratory approved by the Government in that behalf: Provided that the Government may, by notification, exempt any municipal council from the provisions of this section.

(1) The Andhra Pradesh Chit Funds Act, 1971 (Andhra Pradesh Act 9 of 1971), the Kerala Chitties Act, 1975 (Kerala Act 23 of 1975), the Maharashtra Chit Funds Act, 1974 (Maharashtra Act LV of 1974), the Tamil Nadu Chit Funds Act, 1961 (Tamil Nadu Act 24 of 1961), as in force in the State of Tamil Nadu and in the Union territories of Chandigarh and Delhi, the Uttar Pradesh Chit Funds Act, 1975 (Uttar Pradesh Act 53 of 1975), the Goa, Daman and Diu Chit Funds Act, 1973 (Goa, Daman and Diu Act 16 of 1973), and the Pondicherry Chit Funds Act, 1966 (Pondicherry Act 18 of 1966), are hereby repealed and the provisions of section 6 of the General Clauses Act, 1897 (10 of 1897), shall apply to such repeal as if each such Act so repealed were a Central Act. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, the Acts mentioned in sub-section (1) shall continue to apply to chits in operation on the commencement of this Act, in the same manner as they applied to such chits before such commencement.

A General Assam Rifles Court shall consist of not less than five officers, each of whom has held the post of Assistant Commandant for not less than three whole years and of whom not less than four are of a rank not below that of a confirmed Assistant Commandant. Explanation.--For the purpose of this section and section 91, "Assistant Commandant" includes any post of a higher rank and any post declared by the Central Government, by notification, to be an equivalent post as also any post higher in rank than the post so declared.
