It shall not be lawful for a corporation to borrow money, to grant loans or to raise loans by acceptance of deposits, or the issue of debentures, chit funds or the like; provided that a corporation may borrow on the security of its immovable property from such bankers as may be approved by the State Government.

Title: Police Officer May Take Charge of Stray Cattle

1 [In any areas outside the charge of a Commissioner] a Police officer may take charge of any animal falling under the provisions of the Cattle Trespass Act, 1871, 2 [3 * * * * * or, as the case may be, under the Hyderabad Cattle Trespass Act,] which may be found straying in a street, and may take or send the same to the neares pound, and the owner and other persons concerned shall thereon become subject to the provisons of the 4 [relevant Act.] ___________________ 1. These words were substituted for the words "In any area outside Greater Bombay" by Bom. 56 of 1959, s. 3, Schedule. 2. This portion was inserted by Bom. 34 of 1959, s. 29(1). 3. The words "or of that Act as in force in the Saurashtra area of the State of Bombay" were omitted by the Maharashtra Adaptation of laws (State and Concurrent Subjects) Order, 1960. 4. These words were substituted for the words "said Act" by Bom. 34 of 1959, s. 29(2).

Title: Penalty for Maliciously Giving False Information

Any person who maliciously and falsely gives information to any person exercising powers under this Act leading to a search, seizure, detention or arrest shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees or with both.

Title: Power of Governor to Promulgate Ordinances at Any Time with Respect to Certain Subjects

.....of a Province is satisfied that circumstances exist which render it necessary for him to take immediate action for the purpose of enabling him satisfactorily to discharge his functions in so far as he is by or under this Act required in the exercise thereof to act in his discretion, or to exercise his individual judgment, he may promulgate such ordinances as in his opinion the circumstances of the case require. (2) An ordinance promulgated under this section shall continue in operation for such period not exceeding six months as may be specified therein, but may by a subsequent ordinance be extended for a further period not exceeding six months. (3) An ordinance promulgated under this section shall have the same force and effect as an Act of the Provincial Legislature assented to by the Governor but every such ordinance-- (a) shall be subject to the provisions of this Act relating to the power of His Majesty to disallow Acts as if it were an Act of the Provincial Legislature; (b) may be withdrawn at any time by the Governor; and (c) if it is an ordinance extending a previous ordinance for a further period, shall be communicated forthwith through the Governor-General to.....

Trade Marks Act, 1999 (47 of 1999) Section 89

Title: Resignation and Removal

(1) The Chairman, Vice-Chairman or any other Member may, by notice in writing under his hand addressed to the President of India, resign his office: Provided that the Chairman, Vice-Chairman or any other Member shall, unless he is permitted by the President of India to relinquish his office sooner, continue to hold office until the expiry of three months from the date of receipt of such notice or until a person duly appointed as his successor enters upon his office or until the expiry of his term of office, whichever is earlier. (2) The Chairman, Vice-Chairman or any other Member shall not be removed from his office except by an order made by the President of India on the ground of proved misbehaviors or incapacity after an inquiry made by a Judge of the Supreme Court in which the Chairman, Vice-Chairman or other Member had been informed of the charges against him and given a reasonable opportunity of being heard in respect of those charges. (3) The Central Government may, by rules, regulate the procedure for the investigation of misbehaviors or incapacity of the Chairman, Vice-Chairman or other Member referred to in sub-section (2).

Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Section 89

Title: Duties of Shipping Masters

It shall be the duty of shipping masters- (a) to superintend and facilitate the engagement and discharge of seamen in the manner provided in this Act; (b) to provide means for securing the presence on board at the proper times of the seamen who are so engaged; (c) to facilitate the making of apprenticeship to the sea service; (d) to hear and decide disputes under section 132 between a master, owner or agent of a ship and any of the crew of the ship: 1 ["(dd) to transmit the complaint of any dispute of a foreign seaman of a vessel, registered in a country other than India, in Indian territorial waters, with the master, owner or agent, to the competent authority of the country of registration and a copy of such complaint shall be forwarded to the Director General, International Labour Organisation Office;".] (e) to perform such other duties relating to seamen, apprentices and merchant ships as are for the time being committed to them by or under this Act. _________________________ 1.
