Title: Provisions as to Continuance of Officers in Same Post

Every person who, immediately before the appointed day, is holding or discharging the duties of any post or office in connection with the affairs of the State of Bombay in any area which on that day falls within the State of Maharashtra or Gujarat shall continue to hold the same post or office in that State and shall be deemed, as from that day, to have been duly appointed to the post or office by the Government of, or other appropriate authority, in, that State : Provided that nothing in this section shall be deemed to prevent a competent authority, after the appointed day, from passing, in relation to such person, any order affecting his continuance in such post or office.

Title: Decision of Question Whether a Mine is Under This Act

Title: Appointment of Engineer, Health Officer Etc.

.....of its members so desire he shall be withdrawn earlier and another person appointed. It shall be the duty of the council secretary to attend every meeting of the corporation and the standing committees and he shall perform such other duties as are imposed on him by or under this Act. (3) The officers appointed under sub-section (1) shall be whole-time officers of the corporation and shall not undertake any work unconnected with their offices. (4) Every officer of the Government appointed under sub-sections (1) and (2) shall be paid by the corporation such salary as may be determined by the Government from time to time which shall be met out of the corporatrion fund and shall be entitled to leave and other privileges in accordance with the rules and regulations applicable to the Government service to which he belongs and in force for the time being, and the corporation shall make such contribution towards his leave, allowances, pension and provident fund as may be payable under such rules and regulations by him or on his behalf.

Title: Work to Be Done by Licensed Plumber

(1) No person other than a licensed plumber shall execute any work described in this Chapter and no person shall permit any such work to be executed except by a licensed plumber: Provided that if, in the opinion of the Sanitary Engineer, the work is of a trivial nature, he may grant permission in writing for the execution of such work by a person other than a licensed plumber. (2) The provisions of section 59 shall be applicable in respect of any work connected with any drain as they are applicable in respect of any work connected with water supply.

Title: Other Guarantees by State Government

(1) The State Government may by general or special order authorise the grant of loans to members by the1[State Agriculture and Rural Development Bank] or the1[Agriculture and Rural Development Banks] for the development of land in excess of the loans to which such members may be entitled on the basis of the value of the lands determined in accordance with the principles of valuation approved by the State Government such excess not exceeding such limits as may be specified in such order. (2) In respect of loans granted in accordance with sub-section (1), theState Government may guarantee for a specified period the repayment of the loan to the extent of the excess granted to the members. ___________________________ 1 . Title: Power to Enter and Lake Possession and Compensation on Restoration

(1) On payment of such compensation, or on executing such agreement, or on making a reference under section 64, the Collector may enter upon and take possession of the land, and use or permit the use thereof in accordance with the terms of the said notice. (2) On the expiration of the term, the Collector shall make or tender to the persons interested compensation for the damage (if any) done to the land and not provided for by the agreement, and shall restore the land to the persons interested therein: Provided that, if the land has become permanently unfit to be used for the purpose for which it was used immediately before the commencement of such term, and if the persons interested shall so require, the appropriate Government shall proceed under this Act to acquire the land as if it was needed permanently for a public purpose.

(1) The Police shall take temporary charge-- (a) of all unclaimed property found by, or made over to them, and also (b) of all property found lying in any public street, if the owner or person in charge of such property on being directed to remove the same, refuses or omits to do so.
