[Charge of service tax.-- (1) There shall be levied a tax (hereinafter referred to as the service tax) at the rate of eight per cent of the value of the taxable services referred to in sub-clauses (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), (f), (g), (h), (i), (j), (l), (m), (n), (o), (p), (q), (r), (s), (t), (u), (v), (w), (x), (y), (z), (za), (zb), (zc), (zd), (ze), (zf), (zg), (zh), (zi), (zj), (zk), (zl), (zm), (zn), (zo), (zp), (zq), (zr), (zs), (zt), (zu), (zv), (zw)t (zx), (zy), (zz) and (zza) of clause (105) of section 65 and collected in such manner as may be prescribed. When any land, whether within or without the limits of a municipality is required for the purposes of this Act, the State Government may, at the request of the Nagar Panchayat or the Council, proceed to acquire it under the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, and on payment by the Nagar Panchayat or the Council, as the case may be, of the compensation awarded under that Act and of any other charges incurred in acquiring the land, the land shall vest in the Nagar Panchayat or the Council, as the case may be.

Title: Punishment of Subordinate Officers and Wrrant Officer by Commandant Etc.

A Commandant or such other officer as is, with the consent of the Central Government, specified by the Director-General may, in the prescribed manner, proceed against any subordinate officer or a Warrant Officer who is charged with an offence under this Act and award one or more of the following punishments, that is to say,-- (a) severe reprimand or reprimand; (b) stoppage of pay and allowances until any proved loss or damage occasioned by the offence of which he is convicted is made good: Provided that the punishment mentioned under clause (a) shall only be awarded by an officer not below the rank of Commandant authorised by the Director-General to award such punishment.

Title: Continuance of Facilities in Certain State Institutions

(1) The Government of State of Madhya Pradesh or Chhattisgarh, as the case may be, shall, in respect of the institutions specified in the Eighth Schedule to this Act, located in that State, continue to provide facilities to the people of the other State which shall not, in any respect, be less favourable to such people than what were being provided to them before the appointed day, for such period and upon such terms and conditions as may be agreed upon between the two State Governments within a period of one year from the appointed day or if no agreement is reached within the said period of one year, then, as may be fixed by order of the Central Government. (2) The Central Government may, at any time within a period of one year from the appointed day, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify in the Eighth Schedule any other institution existing on the appointed day in the States of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh and on the issue of such notification, the Schedule shall be deemed to be amended by the inclusion of the said institution therein.
