Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Section 63

Title: National Colours for Indian Ships

Year: 1958

(1) The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare what shall be the proper national colours for all ships registered under this Act and for all ships which are not so registered but which are owned by the Government or by any local authority or by any body corporate established by or under any law for the time being in force in India or by a citizen of India; and different colours may be declared for different classes of ships. (2) Any commissioned officer of the Indian Navy, or any customs collector or any Indian consular officer, may board any ship on which any colours are hoisted contrary to this Act and seize and take away the colours which shall be forfeited to the Government.

Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 Section 63

Title: Special Juvenile Police Unit

(1) In order to enable the police officers who frequently or exclusively deal with juveniles or are primarily engaged in the prevention of juvenile crime or handling of the juveniles or children under this Act to perform their functions more effectively, they shall be specially instructed and trained. (2) In every police station at least one officer with aptitude and appropriate training and orientation may be designated as the 'juvenile or the child welfare officer' who will handle the juvenile or the child in co-ordination with the police. (3) Special juvenile police unit, of which all police officers designated as above, to handle juveniles or children will be members, may be created in every district and city to co-ordinate and to upgrade the police treatment of the juveniles and the children.

Title: Orders and Rules to Be Laid Before Houses of Parliament

Every order and every rule made by the Central Government under this Act shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before each House of Parliament, while it is in session, for a total period of thirty days which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions, and if, before the expiry of the session immediately following the session or the successive sessions aforesaid, both Houses agree in making any modification in the order or rule or both Houses agree that the order or rule should not be made, the order or rule shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be; so, however, that any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that order or rule.

(1) A patentee may, at any time by giving notice in the prescribed manner to the Controller, offer to surrender this patent. (2) Where such an offer is made, the Controller shall1[publish] the offer in the prescribed manner, and also notify every person other than the patentee whose name appears in the register as having an interest in the patent. (3) Any person interested may, within the prescribed period after2[such publication], give notice to the Controller of opposition to the surrender, and where any such notice is given the Controller shall notify the patentee. (4) If the Controller is satisfied after hearing the patentee and any opponent, if desirous of being heard, that the patent may properly be surrendered, he may accept the offer and by order, revoke the patent. _________________________ 1. Where a mentally ill person had been engaged in business before he became menially ill, the District Court may, it" il appears to be for the benefit of the mentally ill person to dispose of his business premises, direct the manager appointed under this Act in relation to the property of such person to sell and dispose of such premises and to apply the sale proceeds thereof in such manner as the District Court may direct and thereupon the manager shall be bound to act accordingly.

Punjab Reorganisation Act, 1966 Section 63

The benefit or burden of any assets or liabilities of the existing State of Punjab not dealt with in the foregoing provisions of this Part shall pass to the State of Punjab in the first instance, subject to such financial adjustment as may be agreed upon between all the successor States before the 1st day of November, 1967, or in default of such agreement, as the Central Government may by order direct.
