Title: Civil Offences Not Triable by a Force Court
State: Central

A person subject to this Act who commits an offence of murder or culpable homicide not amounting to murder against, or of rape in relation to, a person not subject to this Act shall not be deemed to be guilty of an offence under this Act and shall not be tried by a Force Court, unless he commits any of the said offences-- (a) while on active duty; or (b) at any place outside India; or (c) at any place specified by the Central Government by notification, in this behalf.

Title: Transitional Provisions

Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act and the Statutes,-- (a) the first Chancellor and first Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Central Government in such manner and on such conditions as may be deemed fit and each of the said officer shall hold office for such term, not exceeding five years, as may be specified by the Central Government; (b) the first Registrar and the first Finance Officer shall be appointed by the Central Government and each of the said officers shall hold office for a term of three years; (c) the first Court and the first Executive Council shall consist of not more than thirty-one members and eleven members, respectively, who shall be nominated by the Central Government and shall hold office for a term of three years; (d) the first College Development Council shall consist of not more than eleven members, who shall be nominated by the Central Government and they shall hold office for a term of three years; (e) the first Academic Council shall consist of not more than twenty-one members, who shall be nominated by the Central Government and they shall hold office for a term of three years: Provided that if any vacancy occurs in the.....

In the Income-tax Act, after section 153C, the following section shall be inserted with effect from the 1st day of June, 2007, namely:-- " 153D. Prior approval necessary for assessment in cases or requisition.-- No order of assessment or reassessment shall be passed by an Assessing Officer below the rank of Joint Commissioner in respect of each assessment year referred to in clause (b) of section 153 A or the assessment year referred to in clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 153B, except with the prior approval of the Joint Commissioner.".

.....principal Act,-- (a) for sub-section (1), the following sub-sections shall be substituted, namely:-- (1) The Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969 (54 of 1969) is hereby repealed and the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission established under sub-section (1) of section 5 of the said Act (hereafter referred to as the repealed Act) shall stand dissolved: Provided that, notwithstanding anything contained in this sub-section, the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Commission established under sub-section (1) of section 5 of the repealed Act may continue to exercise jurisdiction and powers under the repealed Act for a period of two years from the date of the commencement of this Act in respect of all cases or proceedings (including complaints received by it or references or applications made to it) filed before the commencement of this Act as if the Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices Act, 1969(54 of 1969) had not been repealed and all the provisions of the said Act so repealed shall mutatis mutandis apply to such cases or proceedings or complaints or references or applications and to all other matters. Title: Persons Subject to This Act

(1) The following persons appointed (whether on deputation or in any other manner) in the Force shall be subject to this Act, wherever they may be, namely:-- (a) officers and subordinate officers; and (b) under-officers and other persons enrolled under this Act. (2) Every person subject to this Act shall remain so subject until repatriated, retired, released, discharged, removed or dismissed from the Force in accordance with the provisions of this Act and the rules.

Title: Persons Not to Engage in Business of Common Carrier Without Registration

(1) No person shall engage in the business of a common carrier, after the commencement of this Act, unless he has been granted a certificate of registration. (2) Any person who is engaged, whether wholly or partly, in the business of a common carrier, immediately before the commencement of this Act, shall,-- (a) apply for a registration within ninety days from the date of such commencement; (b) cease to engage in such business on the expiry of one hundred and eighty days from the date of such commencement unless he has applied for registration and the certificate of registration has been granted by the registering authority.

Title: Goods Forwarding Note

(1) Every consignor shall execute a goods forwarding note, in such form and manner as may be prescribed, which shall include a declaration about the value of the consignment and goods of dangerous or hazardous nature. (2) The consignor shall be responsible for the correctness of the particulars furnished by him in the goods forwarding note. (3) The consignor shall indemnify the common carrier against any damage suffered by him by reason of incorrectness or incompleteness of the particulars on the goods forwarding note.

Title: Rates of Charge to Be Fixed by Common Carrier for Carriage of Consignmentat a Higher Risk Rate

Every common carrier may require payment for the higher risk undertaken by him in carrying a particular consignment at such rate of charge as he may fix and correspondingly, his liability would be in accordance with the terms as may be agreed upon with the consignor: Provided that to entitle such carrier to claim payment at a rate higher than his ordinary rate of charge, he should have exhibited a printed or written notice, in English and the vernacular language of the State, of the higher rate of charge in the place or premises where he carries on the business of common carrier.
