In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, - (a) "Court Fees Act" means the Court-fees Act, 1870 as extended to the Union Territory of Goa, Daman and Diu; (b) "High Court" Means the Court of the Judicial Commissioner constituted under the Goa, Daman and Diu (Judicial Commissioner's Court) Regulation, 1963 (No. 10 of 1963): (c) "State Government" means the Administrator of Goa. Daman and Diu appointed under Article 239 of the Constitution.

(1) This Act maybe called The Goa, Daman And Diu Suits Valuation Act, 1965. (2) It extends tothe whole of the Union Territory of Goa, Daman and Diu. (3)It shall come into force on such date 1 as the State Government may,by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint and different dates may benotified, for different provisions of the Act and for different areas. _________________________ 1. The appointed date is 15.06.1986.

In the First Schedule to the Income tax Act, in rule 3, in clause (c), for the words "but no income tax shall be payable on the annual average of the amount of such interest", the words "but the assessee shall be entitled to a deduction from the amount of income tax with which he is chargeable on his total income, of an amount calculated at the rate of twenty five per cent. on the annual average of the amount of such interest" shall be substituted.

(1) The Railways (Employment of Members of the Armed Forces) Ordinance, 1965(4 of 1965) is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under this Act as if this Act had commenced on the 29th day of September, 1965.
