Title: Criminal Breach of Trust by Clerk or Servant

State: Central

Year: 1860

Whoever, being a clerk or servant or employed as a clerk or servant, and being in any manner entrusted in such capacity with property, or with any dominion over property, commits criminal breach of trust in respect of that properly, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to seven years, and shall also be liable to fine.

Title: Liability of Chairperson, Etc., for Loss, Waste or Misapplication of New Delhi Municipal Fund or Property

(1) Every member, Chairperson, and every municipal officer and other municipal employee shall be liable for the loss, waste, or misapplication of any money or other property owned by or vested in the Council, if such loss, waste or misapplication is a direct consequence of his neglect or misconduct and a suit for compensation may be instituted against him by the Council with the previous sanction of the Central Government or by the Government. (2) Every such suit shall be instituted within three years after the date on which the cause of action arose.

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 408

Title: Provision of Places for Disinfection and Power to Destroy Infected Articles

(1) The Commissioner may,- (a) provide proper places with all necessary attendants and apparatus for the disinfection of conveyances, clothing, bedding or other articles, which have been exposed to infection from any dangerous disease; and (b) cause conveyances, clothing, bedding or other articles brought for disinfection to be disinfected free of charge, or subject to such charges, as may be approved by the standing committee. (2) The Commissioner shall notify places at which conveyance, clothing, bedding or other articles which have been exposed to infection from any dangerous disease shall be washed and disinfected and no person shall wash or disinfect any such article at any place not so notified. (3) The Commissioner may direct any clothing, bedding or other article likely to retain infection from any dangerous disease to be disinfected or destroyed.

The Central Government shall, by notification, constitute, with effect from such date as may be specified therein, a Tribunal to be known as the National Company Law Tribunal consisting of a President and such number of Judicial and Technical members, as the Central Government may deem necessary, to be appointed by it by notification, to exercise and discharge such powers and functions as are, or may be, conferred on it by or under this Act or any other law for the time being in force.

Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Section 408

Title: Revocation or Modification of Licence

(1) The Director-General may, at any time if the circumstances of the case so require, revoke or modify a licence granted under section 406 or section 407. (2) No licence shall be revoked or modified under this section unless the person concerned has been given a reasonable opportunity of making a representation against such revocation or modification, as the case may be.

Title: Power of Sessions Judge to Transfer Cases and Appeals

(1) Whenever it is made to appear to a Sessions Judge that an order under this sub-section is expedient for the ends of justice, he may order that any particular case be transferred from one Criminal Court to another Criminal Court in his sessions division. (2) The Sessions Judge may act either on the report of the lower Court, or on the application of a party interested or on his own initiative. (3) The provisions of sub-sections (3), (4), (5), (6), (7) ,and (9) of section 407 shall apply in relation to an application to the Sessions Judge for an order under sub-section (1) as they apply in relation to an application to the High Court for an order under sub­section (1) of section 407, except that sub-section (7) of that section shall so apply as if for the words "one thousand" rupees occurring therein, the words "two hundred and fifty rupees" were substituted.
