Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Section 4

Title: Establishment of National Shipping Board

(1) With effect from such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, specify in this behalf, there shall be established a Board to be called the National Shipping Board (hereinafter in this Part referred to as the Board). (2) The Board shall consist of the following members, namely:-- (a) six members elected by Parliament, four by the House of the People from among its members and the other two by the Council of States from among its members; (b) such number of other members, not exceeding sixteen as the Central Government may think fit to appoint to the Board, to represent-- (i) the Central Government, (ii) ship owners, (iii) seamen, and (iv) such other interests as, in the opinion of the Central Government, ought to be represented on the Board : Provided that the Board shall include an equal number of persons representing the ship owners and seamen. (3) The Central Government shall nominate one of the members of the Board to be the Chairman of the Board. (4) The Board shall have power to regulate its own procedure.

Prevention of Food Adulteration Act,1954 Section 4

1[( 1) The Central Government shall, by notification in the Official Gazette, establish one or more Central Food Laboratory or Laboratories to carry out the functions entrusted to the Central Food Laboratory by this Act or any rules made under this Act: Provided that the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, also specify any laboratory or institute as a Central Food Laboratory for the purposes of this Act.] ( 2) The Central Government may, after consultation with the Committee, make rules prescribing-- 2[(a) the functions of a Central Food Laboratory and the local area or areas within which such functions may be carried out;] (b) the procedure for submission to the said laboratory of samples of articles of food for analysis or tests, the forms of the laboratory's reports thereon and the fees payable in respect of such reports; (c) such other matters as may be necessary or expedient to enable the said laboratory to carry out its functions. ______________________ 1.Substituted by Act 34 of 1976, sec. 5, for clause. Tea Districts Emigrant Lab0ur Act, 1932 [Repealed] Section 4

Title: Powers of the Controller

The Controller shall have power-- (a) to enter (i) all open places on a tea estate, (ii) any enclosed place on a tea estate where he knows or has reason to believe emigrant labourers are working or are accommodated, (iii) any office of a tea estate, (iv) any office or depot maintained by a labour recruiting agency, in Assam or in a recruiting State, (v) any train, vessel or vehicle which he knows or has reason to believe is being used for the conveyance of assisted emigrants; (b) to inspect, in any office or depot mentioned in sub-clauses (iii) and (iv) of clause (a), any register or other document required to be kept under this Act; (c) to carry out in any place mentioned in clause (a) any inquiry which he may deem to be expedient for carrying out the purposes of this Act; and (d) to do any other reasonable act which may be expedient in the discharge of his duties.

Medical Termination of Pregnancy Act, 1971 Section 4

Title: Place Where Pregnancy May Be Terminated

Place where pregnancy may be terminated No termination of pregnancy shall be made in accordance with this Act at any place other than (a) a hospital established or maintained by Government, or (b) a place for the time being approved for the purpose of this Act by Government or a District Level Committee constituted by that Government with the Chief Medical Officer or District Health Officer as the Chairperson of the said Committee: Provided that the District Level Committee shall consist of not less than three and not more than five members including the Chairperson, as the Government may specify from time to time.] ________________________ 1. Sugar Development Fund (Amendment) Act 2008 Section 4

(1) The Sugar Development Fund (Amendment) Ordinance, 2008(Ord. 4 of 2008), is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Sugar Development Fund Act, 1982(4 of 1982) and the Sugar Cess Act, 1982(3 of 1982) as amended bythe said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the said Acts, as amended by this Act.
