Title: Power to Lire Upon Persons Contravening Certain Orders

Any Magistrate or Police Officer not below the rank of Sub-Inspector or Havildar in case of the Armed Branch of the Police may, if he is of opinion that it is necessary so to do for the maintenance of public order, after giving such due warning as he may consider necessary, fire upon, or otherwise use force, even to the causing of death, against any person who is acting in contravention of any law or order for the time being in force in the disturbed area, prohibiting the assembly of five or more persons or the carrying of weapons or of things capable of being used as weapons or of fire-arms, ammunition of explosive substances.

Public Gambling Act 1867 Section 4

Title: Penalty for Being Found in Gaming-house

State: Central

Year: 1867

Whoever is found in any such house, walled enclosure, room or place, playing or gaming with cards, dice, counters, money or other instruments of gaming, or is found there present for the purpose of gaming, whether playing for any money, wager, stake or otherwise, shall be liable to a fine not exceeding one hundred rupees, or to imprisonment of either description, as defined in the Indian Penal Code, for any term not exceeding one month, and any person found in any common gaming-house during any gaming or playing therein shall be presumed, until the contrary be proved, to have been there for the purpose of gaming.

Emigration Act, 1983 Section 4

Title: General Duties of Protectors of Emigrants

Year: 1983

Subject to the other provisions of this Act, every Protector of Emigrants shall, in addition to the special duties assigned to him by or under this Act-- (a) protect and aid with his advice all intending emigrants and emigrants; (b) cause, so far as he can, all the provisions of this Act and of the rules made thereunder to be complied with; (c) inspect, to such extent and in such manner as may be prescribed-- (i) any emigrant conveyance, or (ii) any other conveyance if he has reason to believe that any intending emigrants or emigrants are proceedings from, or returning to, India to or from a place outside India by such other conveyance; (d) inquire into the treatment received by emigrants during their voyage or journey to, and during the period of their residence in the country to which they emigrated and also during the return voyage or journey to India and report thereon to the Protector General of Emigrants or such other authority as may be prescribed; (e) aid and advise, so far as he reasonably can, emigrants who have returned to India.

Destruction of Records Act, 1917 Section 4

Title: Validation of Former Rules for Disposal of Documents

All rules and orders directing or authorizing the destruction or other disposal of documents in the possession or custody of any public officer, heretofore made by a State Government, or with the approval of the State Government by any authority not empowered to make such rules under the Destruction of Records Act, 1879 (3 of 1879), shall be deemed to have had the force of law from the date on which they were made, and all such rules and orders now in force shall continue to have the force of law until they are superseded by rules made under this Act.

Foreign Trade Development and Regulation Act 1992 Section 4

University of Allahabad Act, 2005 Section 4

Title: Incorporation of University of Allahabad

(1) The University of Allahabad in the State of Uttar Pradesh, established under the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973(Presidents Act 10 of 1973), shall be established as a body corporate under this Act having perpetual succession and a common seal and shall sue and be sued by the said name. (2) The first Chancellor, the first Vice-Chancellor and the first members of the Court, the Executive Council and the Academic Council, and all persons who may hereafter become such officers or members, so long as they continue to hold such office or membership, shall constitute the University. (3) The headquarters of the University shall be at Allahabad.
