Indian Forest Act, 1927 Section 29

Title: Protected Forests

(1) The1[ State Government ] may, by notification in the2[ Official Gazette ] , declare the provisions of this Chapter applicable to any forest-land or waste-land which is not included in a reserved forest but which is the property of Government, or over ] , declare the provisions of this Chapter applicable to any forest-land or waste-land which is not included in a reserved forest but which is the property of Government, or over which the Government has proprietary rights, or to the whole or any part of the forest-produce of which the Government is entitled. (2) The forest-land and waste-lands comprised in any such notification shall be called a "protected forest". (3) No such notification shall be made unless the nature and extent of the rights of Government and of private persons in or over the forest-land or waste-land comprised therein have been inquired into and recorded at a survey or settlement, or in such other manner as the1[ State Government ] thinks sufficient. The provisions of the Second and Third Schedules to the Income-lax Act, 1961 (43 of 1961) and the Income-tax (Certificate Proceedings) Rules, 1962, as in force from time to time shall, as far as possible, apply with necessary modifications as if the said provisions and the rules referred to the amount of debt due under this Act instead of to the Income-tax: Provided that any reference under the said provisions and the rules to the "assessee" shall be construed as a reference to the defendant under this Act.

CONVERTS' MARRIAGE DISSOLUTION ACT, 1866 Section 29

Title: No appeal under Act; but Judge may state case raising question whether conversion has dissolved marriage

No appeal shall lie against any order or decree made or passed by any Court in any suit instituted under this Act but if at any state of the suit, the respondent shall allege by way of defence that the marriage between the parties has been dissolved by the conversion of the petitioner, and that consequently the petitioner is not a { The word " Native " omitted by the A.O.1950.} husband or a { The word " Native " omitted by the A.O.1950.} wife ( as the case may be) within the meaning of this Act, the Judge, if he shall entertain any doubt as to the validity of such defence, shall, either of his own motion or on the application of the respondent, state the case and submit it with his own opinion thereon for the decision of the High Court.

Government of India Act, 1858 [Repealed] Section 29

Title: Appointment to Be Made by or with the Approbation of Her Majesty

The Appointments of Governor General of India, Fourth Ordinary Member of the Council of the Governor General of India, and Governors of Presidencies in India, now made by the Court of Directors with the Approbation of Her Majesty, and the Appointments of Advocate-General for the several Presidencies now made with the Approbation of the Commissioners for the Affairs of India, shall be made by Her Majesty by Warrant under Her Royal Sign Manual; the Appointments of the Ordinary Members of the Council of the Governor- General of India, except the Fourth Ordinary Member and the Appointments of the Members of the Council of the several Presidencies, shall be made by the Secretary of State in Council; the Appointments of the Lieutenant Governors of Provinces or Territories shall be made by the Governor General of India subject to the Approbation of Her Majesty; and all such Appointments shall be subject to the Qualifications now by Law affecting such Office respectively.

Code of Civil Procedure (Amendment) Act, 1999 Section 29

In the First Schedule, in Order XXVI, after rule 4, the following rule shall be inserted, namely:-- "4A. Commission for examination of any person resident within the local limits of the jurisdiction of the Court.--Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules, any Court may, in the interest of justice or for the expeditious disposal of the case or for any other reason, issue commission in any suit for the examination, on interrogatories or otherwise, of any person resident within the local limits of its jurisdiction, and the evidence so recorded shall be read in evidence.

National Green Tribunal Act, 2010 Section 29

(1) With effect from the date of establishment of the Tribunal under this Act, no civil court shall have jurisdiction to entertain any appeal in respect of any matter, which the Tribunal is empowered to determine under its appellate jurisdiction. Title: Determination of Question as to Determination of Question as to Whether a Person is an Emigrant

Where a question arises before a Protector of Emigrants as to whether a person intending to depart from India is or is not an emigrant, the Protector of Emigrants shall decide the question after holding an inquiry in such manner and upon considering such evidence as may be prescribed and such other evidence as may be relevant, and communicate the decision to such person in the prescribed manner.
